A two-week 1ceasefire agreement, made on the condition that Iran agreed to reopen the critical Strait of Hormuz, was enough to push oil prices lower Wednesday.

"What has been agreed to, what's been stated, is the strait is open. Our military is watching. Sure, their military is watching, but 2commerce will flow."

But analysts say the 3fragile agreement doesn't guarantee oil tankers will be on the move quickly.

In fact, Iran 4halted oil traffic in the strait Wednesday after Israel attacked Hezbollah sites in Lebanon.

"Market is still waiting to see how the 5vessels start to flow."

The effective closure of the crucial Strait of Hormuz 6rocked global oil supply, and analysts 7anticipate it could take months to fully restore the flow and production of oil 8derailed by the war.

"It's going to be weeks and months to get the production back online, and given that about 3 million 9barrels a day of 10refining capacity has been damaged, that can take months to years to be repaired."

11Lingering uncertainty pushed the average price of a gallon of regular gas to $4.16 Wednesday, according to AAA.

And while retail gas prices are expected to start falling in the coming days if all holds, Price Tracker GasBuddy estimates it'll still take one to two weeks for the average to get back below $4.00.

Leaving the 12squeeze on drivers, but also businesses, who have started to 13pass those higher costs along to already 14weary consumers with new fees for things like shipping and 15logistics.

이 같은 불확실성이 이어지면서 수요일 기준 일반 휘발유 평균 가격은 갤런당 4.16달러로 상승했다고 미국자동차협회(AAA)는 밝혔습니다.

상황이 유지될 경우 소매 휘발유 가격은 향후 며칠 내 하락세를 보일 것으로 예상되지만, 가격 추적업체 가스버디는 평균 가격이 다시 4달러 아래로 내려가기까지는 1~2주가 걸릴 것으로 보고 있습니다.

이에 따라 운전자뿐 아니라 기업들도 부담이 이어지고 있으며, 일부 기업들은 배송·물류 등 항목에 새로운 수수료를 부과하는 방식으로 소비자들에게 비용을 전가하기 시작했습니다.
